G’day welcome to my website “WORLD WIDE WALKABOUT”. My name is Andrew Reid but my nick name is “ROO”! This website is my documented journal of an overland expedition i am taking at the moment in april, Yes i know that i might be contradicting myself with the title, i am driving and not walking the whole way But! trust me i will be doing a lot of hiking and definitely finding a whole lot more about myself on this journey. After flying into Durban south africa ca ca ca, from 4 weeks of training in lanna maui thai camp in chiang mai in thailand, i will pick up ‘Sall’ my 4wd and start my journey to the most southern point of africa then head north to namibia across to to the east coast up as far as Tanzania then wind my back to the west coast and continue to the north west coast eventually into Egypt where i will part the red sea and cross over to Saudi Arabia. HE HE! once in the middle east i’ll work my way down through into Asia and slowly up to Russia. If all goes well, I will leave my car somewhere and probably have to go home and save some more money and continue the rest of my journey down the Americas to Chile. Why you may ask? Well one! is to have a trip of a life time. And two! is to hopefully make a series of doco’s of my trip and to also catch up with a few conservation groups around my travels to learn and show how, what and why these passionate groups of dedicated individuals sometimes put there lives on the line, to save and preserve significant areas, ecosystems wild life and habitat of this extraordinary planet, “EARTH” So if you are still remotely interested in my website, I would love for you to read on and bookmark me and follow my journey around this beautiful and diverse planet.
